Procrastination prevents us from reaching our potential.
It’s produced more wasted talent than anything else…
And most of us (myself included), could be light-years ahead of where we are right now if it weren’t for our tendency to put off that which we should do.
I think about that a lot.
And it’s led me to discover the source of procrastination…
…A lack of belief in our ability to achieve what we want to achieve.
We don’t procrastinate because we’re lazy.
That’s not the real problem here.
We procrastinate because we don’t think that the thing we’re supposed to do will get us the results we want or help us to achieve what we want to achieve.
But it’s not just a lack of belief in the task, it’s a lack of belief in our overall ability to achieve the goal that stops us from the immediate action.
Think about it like this….
If you KNEW you were going to make a billion dollars in 10 years, you just had to complete these important tasks every day to do it, would you do those tasks?
Of course.
There would be no questioning it.
The thing is, we doubt that we’ll make that billion or million or burn that fat or build that muscle…
So we put it off.
Sometimes we put it off forever.
And every time we put something off our future greatness is pushed further into the future…
Eventually reaching a point where it’s pushed beyond our lifetime.
The dreams, goals, and once possible future we had is never realized.
We die with regret.
We die with potential left in the tank.
We die never realizing the beautiful life that we could have lived.
And again, it’s not because we’re lazy or we lack focus, it’s because we don’t believe we can do it.
Believing you can achieve incredible success is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
So is believing you won’t achieve incredible success.
When you KNOW you can achieve your goal, you do the work because the work becomes important.
You know you can win, so there’s a point to taking those steps to success.
If you don’t believe you can win, what’s the point of doing the work if it won’t get you what you want?
There isn’t any point.
We cannot live this way!
Doubt in your ability to produce great results, to achieve incredible outcomes, FORCES you to achieve nothing.
If you know you can do great things, you’ll do great things.
If you doubt you can achieve, you’ll give minimal effort.
Waste no more time doubting.
Make the decision to believe in yourself and believe in what you’re doing.
It will be the greatest decision you can make in life.
You can change in an instant…
…From a guy who procrastinates, who pushes things off, who doesn’t do what he says he’ll do…
…To the guy who’s literally worthy of achieving what he wants to achieve simply by the fact that you do the work, you take the steps that your goals require.
Finally, if you’ve ever been around guys who’ve created profound success in business or health or athletics or any other area of life…
…You’ll see a guy.
Just an average guy like the rest of us who did the work.
He took the risks.
He learned and studied and became the man worthy of what he believed he could do.
At the beginning, the only difference between you and him is belief.
You both have the same talent and potential.
But he believed he could build that billion-dollar company and you doubted that you could do it.
That’s it.
I’ve been around these guys.
Their self-belief is profound, it’s intoxicating and it’s contagious because you see they’re just guys.
Belief is the only difference.
That’s it.
Most people will read this and wish they had that belief.
But they do, or at least they have the ability to have that belief.
And there’s nothing else you need in your life to make the decision to have confidence in your ability to produce the outcomes you want to produce.
You don’t need evidence.
You don’t need to be around a guy who’s done what you want to do.
You don’t need luck or a gift.
You just need to make the decision to believe you can do anything.
That’s how you stop procrastination forever.
That’s how you turn your life around and become the impressive man you were put here to become.
That, my friend, is how you become a Man in the Arena.
Make that decision now, and never look back.
Be Legendary,
Chad Howse
